Hopefully the first in what could be a series of integrated plugins for editors. I’m a big fan of Frame.io and since I use FCPX, this is a godsend. I’m hoping there might eventually be an AVID one? (hint hint)

The only « major » complaint I have for the moment is that I would like to have a way to easily separate the timeline version from the clips that it contains. Other than having to rename the timeline clip in such a way that it appears at the top. I don’t like the fact that my reviewers or clients have to search for the timeline clip. Otherwise, it really is a great app at quite a reasonable price.
So far this seems to be working really well. Love the seamless integration with FCPX. Still testing the free version, but see that we’ll soon be moving up to a paid version. Would like to be able to restrict which clips a client/collaborator can see and comment on - they don’t need to see all the project clips and comments from the production team. Right now using the email link feature for the client, but then they can’t use the commenting tools. Otherwise - very cool, very useful.
It’s a cool app, but it needs Adobe Premiere integration.
great design, great quality, it works and my only feedback is that you guys should accept paypal for payments as well.
Simple in installation and use - and "works as advertised"! :-)
comfortable!
It’s pretty simple. You push export and it sends the file to frame.io website. And Frame.io is a great place to communicate with my editor and my clients!
Professional Editor and Digital Asset Manager here. I never normally bother to write a review for an app but with this I had to. Quite simply, this combined with Frame.io changes everything if you are working in a team workflow. The ability to upload directly in to the CMS system straight out FCPX might not sound like much but on projects with heavily fragmented subject areas and mountains of B-roll it is indispensable! YMMV depending on workflow layout but I have easily doubled my capacity because of this plugin. One huge benefit that seems to have been passed over in the promo materials is the ability to export the clips out of FCPX as individual videos. Essentially plugging a HUGE capability hole that has existed in FCPX for a very long time. The ability to import raw 4K in to FCPX, run off individual low res proxies into a web interface to be reviwed remotely as well as saved locally for editing, all done automatically, and set up with the click of a couple of buttons is amazing. Yes Davinchi resolve can do the same, but the process is more convoluted, this plugin makes it an absolute doddle. On a fast machine, with a fast web connection this plugin condenses hours of Resolve work into a back ground process you can file and forget. We got Frame.io for work and I can say this without a hint of exaggeration, no matter where I go in my career this will be the first thing I buy. I’m even going to pick up a copy for my own private freelancing operations because there are always better things to do with life than render footage. G
The abililty to share video dailies and comps so easily is wonderful. The ability to version and annotate those comps is compelling for professional use. I love the ability to have collabotors to make those annotations and comments on a specific frame. Everyone can click on those comments and jump to a specific frame in the video. Today, this is ready to prime time use… But feature requests for ver 1.1: 1. Display timecodes and media controls to advance or go back 1 sec, 10 sec, or frame by frame. Much further ahead: 2. Collaborative feautures — get everyone scrolling together and sharing screens (very useful on a conference call) And then even sometime in the future: 3. Have something like Adobe Anywhere where everyone can share the same editing timeline but in Premiere Pro or FCPX or Da Vinci Resolve.
cannot login once it gets to the email input screen button just clicks
I’d sent a note to these people about a recommendation. The response I got was incredibly rude and pretentious and dismissive. I could NEVER work with such an entity. And, I will not.
Full-featured, fast and easy to use. Support has always been friendly, open and responsive, as well so I suspect this will get even better in the future.
Wonderful to see this app out and integrated with FCP. Simple, powerful, straight forward, and elegant collaboration tool, both for colleagues and clients, direct from the FCP interface to you. Super useful addition for anyone who wants to collaborate remotely at any level, just for sharing or full on project review with annotation.
The app has some incredible features and funtionality. The beginnings of something amazing. I believe that with time, as bugs are fixed and recommendations on improvements are taken into consideration, this will turn into the premier (no pun intended) collaboration tool in video editing. If you’re willing to be patient with some glitches here and there early on and stick it out, I believe we will all be extremely glad to have such a great product in the end. Worth beign on the journey with this app. Due to a few bugs and glitches that have yet to be fixed, I give this 4 stars. Needs to run smoother and with more reliability to get 5 stars.
Ths is a great addtion to Final Cut. A very easy way to share progress editing a project and collect feedback. Works just as well with family video editing projects as professional ones. The hosting is free for one project so that works great for family and professional users with minimal needs with paid subscriptions available for power users - nicely done.
Frame.io is redefining how collaborative video production gets done. With this new app, uploading numerous clips and shots just got even easier. Highly recommended. Thanks team frame.io!
Been using frame.io for all my creative review sessions with clients, for all kinds of projects ranging from Kickstarter campaigns, online marketing videos, and even narrative/documentary film work (both in film editing and color grading). The fact that I can now easily from FPC export and share shots, sequences, and whole timelines directly to frame.io just makes it way better and more productive to get work done under tight deadlines. I love the support frame.io gives as well if you ever run into problems. Seriously, after being used to internal review systems at places I worked at before (Pixar, DreamWorks, and others) this is insanely great. .: a
Works as advertised, after initial setup everything goes very smooth, love it. I would love to see improvements, about foldes, destination for files, but for now it’s already a very amazing piece of software. Uplaod speeds are crazy fast! (way faster than Dropbox!). Love it.
I love the app. I’m planning on using this with the video team at my church. I love that you can annotate and draw on frames of the videos. I also love that the share feature sends them a page with the video that is clean and branded with my logo. That way I can show my clients the video with or without a download button. Very responsive, polished, and well-designed website. I was really impressed with the sleekness and speed of the site. Nice job guys.
